Riverdale Man Faces Charges in Box Cutter Stabbing

Ramone Watkins, 41, is facing multiple charges in connection with a June 20 box cutter stabbing at his Riverdale home.

A Riverdale man was arrested last week and is facing attempted murder charges in connection to a box cutter stabbing on June 20.

According to the Prince George’s County Sheriff’s Office, Ramone Watkins of the 5300 block of 67th Avenue in Riverdale, got into a verbal argument with the victim—a man related to Watkins— on June 20.

After the argument, deputies said, Watkins stabbed the victim in the neck with a box cutter and fled the scene.

Sheriffs took Watkins into custody at his Riverdale home on Wednesday without incident and took him to the department of corrections where he was charged with attempted first degree murder, first and second degree assault and possession of a dangerous weapon with the intent to injure.

Watkins’ preliminary hearing is set for July 23. He was still in custody at the time of publishing.
