Service is good and they have a wide variety of products; however, the place is so crowded and closed-in, it can be a bit nerve-wracking. And I think the produce section is much nicer at LaGrande (up the hill in Riverdale Plaza shopping center)

You might want to double-check on this place, it looks like it's been permanently closed down.

Not bad at all; service was very good and the pupusas were a GREAT deal at around $2.00. Last time I was there, they also had a few burgers and other non-Latin American foods on the menu.

Unless this place has changed hands, when I visited I was "underwhelmed" to say the least. Service was fairly indifferent, decor was nothing special. As for the food? It was ok, but tasted like those recipes you see for Campbells' soup or Kraft products, "let's make some Salvadorean food!" Not bad food, but nothing to make you want to return.

  • Of the listing Outback Steakhouse

    ***

I hadn't been in an Outback for years, as I like my steaks well-done and they'd never cook them all the way through. However, I was at PG Plaza (or the Mall at Prince Georges, whatever it's called now) last week, and decided to give Outback another try. I was very surprised - first of all, they didn't seat me by the bathroom or off in a corner (a frequent hazard of dining alone!); my server was attentive but not intrusive. I ordered the steak and crab legs; my steak was well-done as ordered, and not tough. Crabs legs were also nice, as was the warm little loaf of dark bread they gave me, and the loaded baked potato. Soda was refilled without my having to ask. And I was surprised to see how many other items besides steak were now on the menu, including lamb, pork, etc. I'm not giving more stars because, like most chain restaurants, the food WAS on the salty side. However, I'll be going back, I want to try that new crab/avocado stack!

This restaurant is no longer in business. A new restaurant, El Comalito, has taken its place.

Haven't had too much else to eat here besides their fried chicken basket, but THAT is quite good; you get chicken with a minimal amount of coating, not chicken smothered in batter like in the fast food places.

  • Of the listing Sakura Seafood Buffet

    ****

Went to the buffet for the first time last week. Most of the food is standard buffet fare, but there were also a few unusual items; including prime rib and duck! Didn't try the duck, but the prime rib wasn't bad. They have a nice little hibachi bar, also a sushi bar, which you don't usually see in buffet settings. Quite a few seafood items, including mussels, crawfish, shrimp, baked salmon, etc. The food was very fresh and the food bars were constantly being re-stocked. Service was friendly and competent, the used plates were removed from my table very quickly. If you pick and choose, you can put together quite a decent meal here. I'll definitely be going back.

Is this place even open any more? Haven't seen anybody there for a long while.

  • Of the listing Shanghai Café

    *****

I usually order delivery from this place; one thing I really like about Shanghai is when I ask for my meal to be "extra spicy," that's exactly what I get! The shredded Szechuan beef is great, lots of meat and crispy veggies.
