Prophet and Wallman put themselves between gunfire and a school; Askins and Murphy arrested a man linked to several burglaries, according to police.
Police Officers Julius Askins and Teresa Murphy were chosen in January as Prince George's police officers of the month for police District V. Here's what the Prince George's Police Department said about Askins and Murphy: A citizen told Police Officers Julius Askins and Teresa Murphy of a breaking and entering in progress on Dec. 19 in Clinton, and gave them a description of the suspect’s car. Askins and Murphy rushed to the scene and spotted the suspect’s car speeding away. They managed to pull it over, and they saw stolen property in plain view.
