Police offering reward for info which leads to arrest, prosecution of suspect.
Prince George's County Police are investigating the murder of an 18-year-old man in Lewsidale and have offered an up-to-$25,000 reward for information which could lead to the arrest and prosecution of a suspect. Police first responded to the 7200 block of 24th Avenue on Feb. 28, at about 7 p.m. for a report of a shooting. Once on the scene, police found the victim, Meyder Bladimir Yuman, a resident of the 2200 block of Lewsidale Drive, outside suffering from a gunshot wound. Yuman was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. From the Prince George's County Police Department: The Prince George’s County Police Department is investigating a murder in College Park. The victim is identified as 20 year-old David Esequel Avelar of the 6600 block of 94th Avenue in Lanham. On Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at approximately 4:00 am, patrol officers were called to the 9100 block of Baltimore Avenue for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, patrol officers found Avelar suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Avelar was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. A former officer shot his mistress in the head and drove their baby daughter to an apartment complex where he left her in a hot car to die, according to prosecutors.
A former Washington DC police officer was found guilty of two counts of first degree murder on Thursday in the 2011 deaths of the mother of his child and of their 11-month old daughter in Prince George's County, prosecutors said in a news release. Richmond Diallo Phillips, 40, killed Wynetta Wright, 20, and their daughter Jaylin to avoid paying child support argued Prince George's County State's Attorney Angela Alsobrooks, The Washinton Times reported. Local man fatally shot early Sunday morning.
County police are trying to figure out who shot and killed a 20-year-old Lewisdale man early Sunday morning two blocks from his home. According to the Prince George's County Police Department, at 1:25 a.m. on Nov. 11, officers were dispatched to the intersection of Charleston Place and Drexel Street in the Chillum neighborhood of Lewisdale to investigate a reported shooting. When they arrived on the scene, police discovered Edwin Alexander Lainez-Noyola suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. Lainez-Noyola, a resident of the 7300 block of 23rd Avenue, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. Prince George's County police have arrested a man in connection with the killing of Riverdale resident Ishmael Boakye. Marcus Devon Reid, 21, of the 10000 block of Pookey Way in Upper Marlboro was charged Thursday with first degree murder. According to police, patrol officers responded to the 10900 block of Woodlawn Boulevard in Upper Marlboro Tuesday shortly after midnight. When they arrived, they found 27-year-old Boakye—of the 6800 block of Riverdale Road—fatally shot on the ground. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
