Board of Licenses Approves Liquor Transfer Request for Rinaldi Lanes

Chairman says sworn-in officers should be a recommendation, not a requirement, for the establishment to continue with business.

A transfer request for a liquor license was approved for Rinaldi Lanes Tuesday, after the Board of Licenses chairman suggested a change in the language of the Property Use Agreement with Riverdale Park’s council. “To say that this request is so significant,” Chairman Franklin Jackson said, in regards to specifications for Maryland-sworn in officers, “We’d really have to have evidence that said this request or that using these federal officers is so unreasonable and provides such a commitment by Riverdale Park Police.” Rinaldi’s current security force includes some longtime employees and two federal officers. Winter Bowling Leagues Begin at Rinaldi Lanes

Riverdale's Rinaldi Lanes kicked off its winter league season on Tuesday.

With 24 leagues that bowl year-round, Rinaldi Lanes in Riverdale is somewhat of a bowling league Mecca. The summer leagues run from June to mid-August, and the winter leagues picks up again in late August and end approximately nine months later. Tuesday evening marked the beginning of this year's winter league. Starting this Tuesday and next, the two most competitive leagues, known as Three Brothers Renegades and Tuesday Night Commercial will monopolize the lanes beginning at 6:30 p.m.  The Three Brothers Renegades league, known locally as 3BR, kicked off its season last night.  Sponsored for the past eight years by Three Brothers Italian Restaurant, the league features a 36-week season.
