CommunityFest 2011 is a celebration of community through empowerment, information and fun. This event will feature family-friendly entertainment that will include carnival games and rides, and food and craft activity vendors that are perfect for youth of all ages. Residents will have access to a variety of information pavilions from area banks to anti-hunger groups and service organizations and civic groups from the DC metropolitan area. Free hourly screenings for HIV/STD testing, a health education and fitness class, and financial workshop will be available to the public.
Also, in conjunction with the Capital Area Food Bank and Priority Partners, SEED will host another 6000-pound food giveaway. Don’t miss it!
Proceeds from CommunityFest 2011 will support the SEED-Children's Defense Fund, as well as the SEED Food Distribution Center and Clothes Closet and Housing Counseling and foreclosure prevention efforts.
