Dispatches: Two Coat Drives Need Donations

Take all slightly use winter coats and give them to needy in two local drives.

As the first of the season chilly weather arrived last week, many residents took out their winter clothes and coats to make sure they fit or may have even headed to the sales.

But if you have extra coats that don't fit you or your children, two local coat drives could use your help.

The town of are collecting men's, women's and children's coats to hand out at the annual Thanksgiving Dinner.

The Prince George's County Police Department's District 5 is also collecting coats in with the help of they are sponsoring starting on Oct. 8.

“The coat drive for families in need is yet another example of how our officers with the Prince George’s County Police Department are taking a vested interest in our communities.  Hopefully our community partners will come out to support this important initiative”, Maj. Jason Bogue, Commander of District 5, said.

They will collecting the coats with the help of drop boxes placed throughout the county.
