POLL: Why Did the Ravens Lose the AFC Championship?

Former Terps had big plays for the Baltimore Ravens, but the New England Patriots win 23-20.

Many aren't surprised that the Ravens lost in the AFC Championship today. .

“I could easily, easily see the Patriots winning this game by 10 points, and I think I’m being conservative here," Skip Bayless said this past week on ESPN First Take.

In the end, it was a dropped ball in the end zone, followed by a missed kick that led to the 23-20 loss against the New England Patriots, who will now move on to play against either the New York Giants or the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, depending on how the next game goes.

The Ravens had some big plays to keep the score within three points, including a recovered fumble by LaQuan Williams and a touchdown by Torrey Smith, both former University of Maryland players.

So what is to blame for the loss? Take the Patch Poll, and let us know what you think.

I agree. They kept saying he got 'stripped' of the ball. Doesn't that imply possession? That was a TD.

Well, I'm from Baltimore and now live in Hyattsville.... I am a hard Core Raven Fan. First I hope this quiets Raven's Critics... they are one of the best teams in the League... 4 years in a row now they have gone to the playoffs... and all under Flacco. New England is not Super human...I was disgusted with the ESPN coverage this past weeks saying the Ravens didn't have a chance ... we beat NE in the 2009 playoff game and lost 23-20 by a NE field goal in 2010 . Statically we dominated NE yesturday... Flacco had Better stats than Bradey... In fact Flacco had a fantastic game... I hope this quits his critics as well The Loss.... A key dropped pass in the N-zone... Perfect pass... but dropped.. gotta make those catches... and a missed field goal... Some times it is what it is... no mystery... just a couple key mistakes... ! But a great season... and I am looking farward to next year...(and with Ray Lewis Reportedly) GO RAVENS !!!

The refs blew several calls, the biggest one was the "incomplete pass" in the end zone. The receiver caught the ball and took two steps before the ball was stripped. That is a touchdown, he had possession long enough to make a football move. Game over!

The Ravens are not Greenbelt's team. They belong to Baltimore and its suburbs just as Greenbelt is a Redskins suburb. Same goes for the Orioles and Nationals. Never should the twain meet.
