Four Local Students To Be Awarded Scholar Dollars

Prince George's County Public Schools will partner with the Mall at Prince George's to hand out awards to local students Wednesday.

Two local students will be recognized for the academic achievements along with 18 other Prince George's County Public Schools honor roll students Wednesday at T

Lyric Williams, of , Monica Polanco, of , Demara Austin, of and Vanessa Niba, of , will receive scholar dollars with the mall as a reward for being on honor roll.

The Scholar Dollar Program was created in 2006 through a joint effort of Prince George’s County Government Office of the County Executive and PGCPS to reward students for academic excellence.

The program gives special discounts and incentives to students who earn a 3.0 grade point average, honor roll or other significant achievement during each report card period.

Nearly 900,000 PGCPS students have been rewarded through the Scholar Dollar program to date.

These 20 students will be honored with gift cards and airline tickets during an awards ceremony at 10:30 a.m. at the center court of the mall.
