School's Out, Learning's Still In

Friday marks the end of the school year in Prince George's County, but administrators are encouraging students to complete summer learning packets.

School may be letting out for the summer Friday, but that doesn’t mean kids need to take a hiatus from learning.

Prince George’s County Public Schools summer activity packets are now available online for students entering kindergarten through eighth grade. The materials are intended to reinforce math, reading, language arts, science, and other skills to help students be better prepared for the 2012-2013 school year.

The packets are optional, but PGCPS administrators are encouraging parents to download them so their children can keep up to speed with daily activities during the summer months.

Some teachers may even offer feedback, and parents are advised ask about class credit for completion of the packets.
