Riverdale Elementary PTO Set to Host Fundraiser
Parents and community members can support the school by purchasing discount cards to a Macy's sales day.
's Parent-Teacher Organization is looking to raise money to enhance the school's library or to make renovations to the playground.
PTO Vice President Christina Burton said the PTO is hoping to raise money with the help of Macy's Shop For a Cause sale. On Saturday Aug. 27, Macy's will offer special sale prices to shoppers with an All-Day Savings Pass, when they can get 25 percent off regular, sale and clearance items and 10 percent off for electronics, furniture and mattresses.
It's the first time Riverdale Elementary has participated in the event, Burton said.

Shoppers should buy the $5 pass from Burton. She said they will be selling the passes Thursday and Aug. 18 at the or they can call her directly at 301-357-9803.
She said 100 percent of the profits from the sale will benefit the school and they are hoping to sell 450 passes.
