Parkdale's Student-Run Bank Featured in Trade Magazine Cover Story

The branch is managed by ten students under the supervision of Capital One employees.

's student-run Capital One branch is the subject of a cover story in the Maryland Bankers Association's latest quarterly magazine.

The article—published in the Q1 edition of The Maryland Banker—details , in which ten students manage the branch under the supervision of Capital One officials.

Open since fall of 2010, the program is intended to promote financial literacy while offering basic banking services to students and faculty.

Parkdale student Bladimir Martinez told the magazine that the experience of running a bank had led him to more seriously consider college.

"I’ve opened my eyes and realized that education plays a huge role in our lives," Martinez said.
