Parkdale Honors Senior Achievements

Students received awards last week for scholarly performance, personal integrity, leadership ability, and artistic talent.

Submitted by Rosita Herndon, Senior Award Night Coordinator:

On Tuesday, May 15, held its Senior Awards Night. Those seniors whom demonstrated scholarly performance, personal integrity, leadership ability or artistic talent were honored. These seniors have shown a positive influence on both their peers and faculty and have thus been an inspiration to the Parkdale community.

Sergeant Major Cooper, JROTC instructor, led the color guards in the presentation of the colors and the pledge of allegiance to start the program.

Our gospel choir conducted by Mrs. Tatum, music teacher, performed “I Give My Life Away.” It was truly a moment to remember.

Mr. Keith Sewell, our guest speaker, challenged our students by challenging them to continue to strive for their best. His ten key points regarding success were very inspirational and left an impact on our students.

Each department recognized the accomplishments of their students. In addition, many of our students were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments and received special awards. Ruth Petite-Homme, Valedictorian and Nina Roselle Manio, Salutatorian received special recognition for their high achievements.

Many students went above and beyond any expectations for them, not only excelling in their academic classes, but also with their abilities. The list of awards and recipients from Senior Awards Night were quite amazing.

At the end, Ms. Cheryl J. Logan, principal took the pleasure in recognizing all of our recipients for their hard work, dedication, personal integrity and achievements.

It was a fantastic night as we honored and celebrated the Class of 2012!
