Parkdale High Students Stay Focused With Camps

Students are spending time learning and training during the summer months with camps.

Although many students may want to spend the summer relaxing, some students from are choosing to stay focused by participating in various camps.

Twenty-seven JROTC cadets from the school went to Camp Success at Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia in June.

Cadets got the opportunity to experience life in a military setting.

“Congratulations to the JROTC cadets for successfully completing Camp Success,” Prince George's County Public Schools Superintendent William R. Hite, Jr. said.

“The students and staff at Parkdale High School should be proud of their accomplishments, and I am looking forward to hearing of the many achievements of our students.”  

In addition to the JROTC program, seven other grant-funded camps will be held at the school for students to keep their minds active this summer, including a camp for incoming students, Advancement Placements camps based on subjects, math camp, TV production camp, English for Speakers of Other Languages camp, food and arts camp for male students and even one for incoming freshman.
