NHS Choir Makes S. Africa Trip Fundraising Goal

Choir boosters overcome challenges, raise money to make it to South Africa choir festival.

It looks like the Northwestern High School Choir will be going to South Africa after all, according to The Washington Post.

Since then, the story has gotten some press in a number of media outlets, including within Petula Dvorak's column for The Washington Post.

Dvorak's column got the choir national attention, and soon after the post office was practically deluged by donations to help the group. 

$70,000 in donations, to be exact. It's a whopping haul, especially when you consider that it all came in since Dvorak's column was printed a little more than three weeks ago.

The Northwestern High School Choir travels to South Africa on July 10. It will be the first time the school choir has performed internationally.
