University Park to Host Cafritz Presentation Tonight
Representatives from the Cafritz Property will present their idea for the proposed Whole Foods and mixed-use development off Baltimore Avenue.
Residents and elected officials alike will get a chance to learn more about the development proposed for the off Baltimore Avenue in Riverdale Park Monday night, when representatives of the property and developers will present their ideas to University Park's council.
The is 35.8 acres of heavily-wooded area just at the northern edge of Riverdale Park on the east side of Route 1.
The town meeting is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room of and the Cafritz presentation will begin around 7:30 p.m.

Town meetings are open to the public, regardless of where the guests reside.
Mayor John Tabori wrote in an announcement on University Park's town website, "After the presentation is finished, University Park Council Members will be allowed to ask questions, followed by other elected officials, residents and guests. Questions will be limited to no more than 2 minutes in length. Questions should not be prefaced by either pro or con statements. There will be plenty of opportunity to express analysis and opinions at a later date."

Members of the "Route 1 Coalition" sent out flyers over the weekend notifying residents of the meeting, giving them some basic information about the project and asking them to attend.
The letter was signed by members of the coalition including residents of Riverdale Park, University Park, College Park, Berwyn Heights and Hyattsville.
