University Park Mayor and Common Council to Hold Special Session Tonight

Agenda Change: Fiscal year 2013 budget will no longer be discussed.

Update 5:02 p.m. The agenda for this evening meeting has changed, and the fiscal year 2013 budget will not be discussed. The budget discussion will be rescheduled for early next week.

Two presentations have been added to the agenda for tonight's meeting:

  • Ms. Bea Tignor, municipal liaison, County Executive Baker’s Office and Mr. Michael Lyles, executive director of Human Relations for Prince George’s County will update attendees on the status of Human Relations in the county.
  • Dan Strickman of the United States Department of Agriculture (and University Park resident) will discuss mosquito abatement.

The meeting, which is open to the public, is expected to focus on the fiscal 2013 budget, but other topics include the approval/disapproval of the memorandum of Understanding (MOC) between the Town of University Park and Prince George’s County Public School, two permitting issues and general public comments.
