STEP UP Advisory Committee Welcomes Energy Coach to University Park

The energy coach will facilitate the town's $1.4 million energy efficiency project.

University Park Mayor John Tabori introduced the town's new energy coach Tuesday night at the Advisory Committee meeting.

Suzanne Parmet of Chevy Chase will now take on the role as energy coach and will be formally introduced to the town at the .

Parmet will take over the reins from resident Chuck Wilson, with assistance from other town residents, helped initially get the U.S. Department of Energy grant money to help fund this unique program that will allow residents to find ways to boost energy efficiency in their homes.

"This is a big step forward in the program," Tabori said Tuesday. "She has wonderful credentials and wonderful references."

The town had narrowed down the candidates to four finalists and offered Parmet the position prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.
