Riverdale Park Week Ahead: Special Legislative Session, Community Meeting

This week in Riverdale Park there are not one but two meetings residents won't want to miss. 

What: Special Legislative Session
When: 7:30 p.m. Jan. 15
Where: Riverdale Park Town Hall
Preview: The number one item on the agenda for Tuesday's legislative session is a motion regarding the Cafritz development's Preliminary Plan of Subdivision. The plan is slated to go before the Prince George's County Planning Board on Thursday, but the Riverdale Park Town Council still has several outstanding issues with the plan as written. The two main sticking points are the location and funding for the proposed CSX bridge and the placement of the hiker/biker trail along the historic trolley line.

What:Town Hall Youth and Community Wing Public Meeting
When: 7:30 p.m. Jan. 16
Where: Riverdale Park Town Hall
Preview: Last week, the town council approved a decision to as the Maryland State Legislature for additional funding for the town hall youth and community wing. At this meeting, residents will get a chance to see some drawings of the proposed structure and to ask questions and weigh in on the building’s design, funding and uses. A Spanish language translator will be present at the meeting.
