“I’m looking forward to getting Cafritz approval through and construction started, and continuing to work on economic development and streamlining and improving government operations over all,” Thompson said.

Thompson was out at the polls most of the day. He said there was a slow but steady stream of people with a bit of a post-workday rush.

Voter turnout for Monday’s election was low, but Thompson said that may be indicative that people are happy with the current council and mayor. The seven uncontested races may also have played a part in local voter apathy, he added.

“It’s hard to drum up enthusiasm for an unchallenged race,” Thompson said.

The breakdown of the vote is as follows:

Candidate Votes Vernon Archer (Mayor) 166 Jonathan Ebbeler (Ward 1) 57 Alan Thompson (Ward 2) 42 David Lingua (Ward 3) 22 Christopher Henry (Ward 4) 32 Raymond Rivas (Ward 5) 7 Alejandro Silva (Ward 6) 3
