You can learn more at a public meeting Wednesday night.
The Prince George’s Planning Department is updating its official vision for the College Park/University of Maryland Metrorail Station; the two planned purple line stations along River Road; and the surrounding areas.
The updated transit district development plan (TDDP) and the transit district overlay zone (TDOZ) will address the concerns of property owners, residents, businesses, colleges and universities and the county in general.
The TDDP plan will also identify opportunities for new transit and pedestrian solutions.
The zone will outline what property owners and developers can and cannot do within its confines, from College Park Airport to the north, Metrorail/MARC/CSX tracks to the west, the residential portion of the Town of Riverdale Park to the south, and the Northeast Branch Stream Valley Park to the east.
According to a notice released by the county, the TDDP aims to make the area it covers more walkable; to foster mixed-use development and expand opportunities for public, open spaces.
