Meeting Roundup: University Park Council Discusses Parking, Bank Accounts, Street Repairs

Notes from June 18 meeting with mayor and council.

University Park's town council met Monday night prior to the Cafritz meeting. Here's what they discussed.

  • A full contract for the town’s street repair and maintenance was submitted and signed. Notices for the area will go out in the next couple of days, and work is expected to begin in Ward 2.
  • There are no new updates for Nine Ponds as the council is waiting for comments from partners. They will have a full report by August.
  • The council was in agreement over transferring the town’s funds from a Bank of America account to a SunTrust account.
  • The council adopted an ordinance bond authorizing issuance and sale of the town’s bond, amounting to $2.38 million to support funding and infrastructure.
  • The meeting ended with the Cafritz’ property presentation to residents and council members, awaiting the team with questions about traffic concerns.
  • Mayor Tabori said a detailed newsletter filled with all information about the project, separate from the town’s newsletter, will be released in August.
