Former Owner of Three Brothers Runs for Ward 6 Seat in University Park

Former Owner of Three Brothers Italian Restaurant Michael B. Cron is taking a shot at politics as he runs for the council seat for Ward 6 in University Park.

Cron, 55, who lives at 3901 Underwood Street, was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Comack, NY, but he moved to University Park in 1979 and has lived her for 32 years.

He graduated from Florida International University in 1978 in a bachelor's in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

Cron, is married to Carol, and has two sons, Jon and David.

Patch asked Cron some questions about his run for office.

Riverdale Park-University Park Patch: How can residents benefit from your representation on council?

Michael Cron: I will always listen to my ward’s citizens and convey their wishes to the council.  I would also concentrate on infrastructure issues such as improving sidewalks and street repaving.

Patch: What are your goals for your time on council?

MC: To carry out our council’s main objective to continue our long standing obligation and tradition to make this town better than we found it.

Patch: What do you hope to change?

MC: There are always better ways to budget and manage town services.  

Patch: What are some issues that concern you or your ward? How will you address them?

MC: Due to the fact that I have decided to take on this challenge recently, I have not been able to confer with the outgoing council person as of yet to see what major issues there are.

Patch: Why do you love living in University Park?

MC: It has always had a small town feel to me and has always been a tight nit community.

Patch: Anything else to add?

MC: I look forward to serving my ward 6 neighbors and town council to carry on the good work of our predecessors.
