County Holding Spring Pet Fest to Boost Adoptions

The event will include reduced adoption fees and a pet fashion show.

This Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Prince George’s County Department of Environmental Resources' Animal Management Division is hosting a free Spring Pet Fest at its Animal Services Facility (3750 Brown Station Rd. in Upper Marlboro).

“This family-friendly event will help match potential adoptees with a new four-legged friend,” DER Director Samuel Wynkoop said in a statement. “Spring Pet Fest will assist us in our goal of reducing pet homelessness, and we invite the public to support this worthwhile event.”

The county is hoping to promote the importance of pet adoption. Attendees can enjoy and participate in a pet fashion show and parade, have pet photos taken, and buy items from craft, yard, and bake sales. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Animal Services Facility.
