Bad Weather Delays University Park Leaf Pickups

A string of bad weather has delayed the progress of University Park's leaf pickup crew, according to Public Works Director Michael Beall.

"The combination of rainy weekdays followed by great weekends to rake leaves out to the curb have caused the leaves to pile up quickly all over town," Beall said in a letter.

As of Wednesday evening, Van Buren Street in Ward 4 had yet to be completed. Crews are then set to move onto Ward 7.

"Very large piles all throughout Wards 6 & 7 mean it will likely take a week to get back into Ward 2," Beall said. "We are striving to visit each ward two more times by Jan. 6."
