University Park Police Need Help Solving House Breakin

Band equipment was reportedly stolen from a house on 40th Avenue in University Park. Police are asking that residents who saw anything suspicious call authorities.

The University Park Police Department is asking for the public's help to solve a breakin that happened between Monday and Thursday in the 7000 block of 40th Avenue, according to a news release from Police Chief Michael Wynnyk.

Someone broke a garage window and once in the garage forced open an interior basement door to enter the house. The homeowner was away when the breakin occurred, returning on Thursday to discover that band equipment had been stolen from his home, Wynnyk said in the release.

Items reported stolen included two guitars, amplifiers, speakers, microphones and keyboards. No value for the missing items was given. The area was searched and officers found two keyboards in the rear yard.
