University Park Police Chief Plans Second Series of Summer Crime Forums

The four-forum series will begin on July 11.

University Park Police Chief Michael Wynnyk will host the second annual starting July 11.

The University Park Police Department hosted a similar series last summer to help residents learn proactive measures to take in order to prevent crime to the homes and property after there was an increase in crime. Residents shared ideas with one another and even started neighborhood watches by wards and streets.

Wynnyk said this series will feature guest speakers and will include a variety of discussions including personal protection, securing your home from burglars, protecting your property, crime prevention through environmental design, Internet safety and protecting your children.  Residents can also request any police-related topic of interest be discussed.
