University Park Combats Rise in Crime with Block Party

After numerous reported break-ins, Underwood Street residents organize a potluck block party to meet each other and combat crime in the community together.

Underwood Street residents hosted a "Neighborhood Greet and Eat" Sunday in order to meet neighbors and combat crime.

About thirty to forty people showed up, including Officer Sease of the University Park Police Department.

The event was organized by seven University Park residents who wanted to bring neighbors together to get to know each other and look out for each after an increase in break-ins. The organizers left flyers at each home and asked that residents sign up for the event and a bring a food item for this potluck-style gathering.
