Train Hits Car, Tow Truck Near Queensbury Road

The car's driver was arrested for driving under the influence, reported NBC4.

A tow truck was trying to pull a car off the tracks near Queensbury Road in Riverdale Park when a freight train struck both vehicles Saturday evening. No injuries were reported.

Riverdale Park Police say the accident happened around 8:30 p.m., according to WTOP.

An NBC4 news report said that the police were the ones who had called the tow truck to remove the Lexus from the tracks, where it had gotten stuck.

NBC4 also reported that it "is unclear if the train's operator had been contacted to inform him of the cars on the track."
