Thieves Strike University Park Autos Friday
Personal belongings were stolen from several parked vehicles in University Park Friday morning.
At least four different vehicles were broken into early Friday morning in University Park and victims reported multiple items missing, according to University Park Police.
The thefts took place between 1:15 a.m. and 6:15 a.m. Friday. Cars were robbed at the following locations:
4300 Block of Tuckerman St.

6700 block of 44th Ave.

4300 Block of Clagett Rd.
The car on 44th Avenue was locked at the time of the robbery and police report that a window was broken by the suspect/s to gain entry, police said.
Most stolen items were located near the thefts and returned to the owners, according the University Park Police Chief of Police Michael Wynnyk. Stolen items still missing include change, a drivers license, a debit card, a Dell laptop computer and a “hotspot” wireless Internet device that was reportedly in a tan case.
Police searched the area for suspects and witnesses, which is when they found some of the stolen property, police said. The suspect/s are still at large and the investigation is ongoing.
If residents locate property they suspect may be stolen, they should contact University Park police at 301-277-0051.
