Speeders Beware: County Places New Speed Camera Outside Northwestern High

As a part of the county's initiative to slow down traffic around schools a speed camera has been installed outside the high school off Adelphi Road.

Drivers will have to slow down when driving down Adelphi Road, now that a new speed camera has been installed outside of Northwestern High School.

According to a press release from the Prince George's County Police Department Sept. 21 will mark the end of the 30-day warning period for the county's new automated speed enforcement program.

After Wednesday, citations will be issued to motorists travelling 12 miles over the posted speed limit in designated school zones.

The speed limit on Adelphi Road is 30 miles per hour, which means anyone going 42 miles per hour or more will get a ticket.

Speed cameras will enforce Monday through Friday 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
