UPDATE: Six People Displaced After Fire in Their Riverdale Home

A fire broke out in the bedroom around 2:40 p.m. Monday.

Update, 4:37 p.m.: A Riverdale Heights family is displaced today after a fire damaged their home on Quintana Street in Riverdale Heights.

The fire was reported shortly after 2:30 Monday afternoon, firefighters arrived on the scene with smoke showing from the two-story house in the 5800 block of Quintana Street.

The fire was located in a rear bedroom of the house, firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within 15 minutes of arriving on the scene, according to Riverdale Fire Chief Charles Ryan.

Ryan said no one was injured and the fire displaced two adults and four children.

Fire Investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire.

Original Post, 3:35 p.m.: Two adults and four children have been displaced from their Riverdale home, after a fire broke out in a bedroom Monday afternoon.

Riverdale Fire Department reported to the scene after a call was placed reporting a fire at a one-story home at 5815 Quintana St.

The fire was knocked down within minutes and currently no injuries have been reported.

Although Riverdale Heights Fire Department is only a block away, that fire department did not respond because they didn't have a driver.
