RP Police Lieutenant Selected for Prestigious Training Program

Andrew Powell is a ten year veteran of the Riverdale Park Police Department.

Chief David Morris of the Riverdale Park Police Department is proud to announce that Lieutenant Andrew Powell has been chosen to attend the 327th Session of the prestigious Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command. 

The School of Police Staff and Command (SPSC) is an intensive ten-week program that prepares law enforcement managers for senior positions by uniquely combining academic principles with practical applications. Because research is a key component of the SPSC, many times a student’s research project comes directly from a timely and critical issue facing that student’s agency. The knowledge gained can be put to use immediately.

From the time it was launched in 1983, the SPSC has received enthusiastic response from executives and trainers throughout the country.

Lieutenant Powell is a ten year veteran of the Riverdale Park Police Department and commands all support and investigative functions within the department. He will be attending this dynamic, academically demanding program with law enforcement administrators from Maryland, Delaware and Pennsylvania.
