Riverdale Firefighters Raise Money at Franklin's

With the help of the Hyattsville-based brewery, the firefighters raised money for their station.

Many notable Riverdale Park residents were out Tuesday supporting the fire department including Mayor Vernon Archer and Councilman David Lingua.

According to firefighter Nova Johns, the company raised around $350, which means supporters bought around $1,750 worth of food or drinks.

Johns said the fire company will continue to receive donations in honor of Fire Chief Charles Ryan, who is recovering from a critical burn he received while working for a D.C. Fire Company on April 8.
