Man Surrenders to Police After Upper Marlboro Barricade Situation

Police officials are investigating the 10-hour long barricade situation.

Update: Nov. 8, 1:56 p.m. Police officials spent most of Saturday negotiating after a man barricaded himself in a home in 11900 block Berrybrook Terrace in Upper Marlboro around 2 a.m., according to Prince George’s Police Spokeswoman Corporal Maria McKinney.

“Once on the scene, officers encountered an individual who was armed
with a shotgun. The officers then backed out of residence [and] at the
same time they evacuated others out of the house," McKinney said.

The suspect, who hasn’t been identified, surrendered himself at around
12:30 p.m., she added.

Prince George’s police officials are investigating the incident.

Original Post, noon: Prince George’s police are trying to talk a barricaded suspect out of an Upper Marlboro home, according to police.

A tweet from Prince George’s police officials around 12:15 p.m. read,
“#Upper Marlboro Barricade Update: #PGPD continues talks with suspect
in attempts to resolve #barricade.”

At this time, it is unclear how long officials have been on the scene
and why police are interested in this suspect.
