Police Identify Man Killed in Fatal Car Crash, Search For Information

A 34-year-old D.C. man was killed in a

William K. Ward was pronounced dead by U.S. Park Police, who responded to the crash that happened around 6:20 p.m.

Police shut down the nortbound lanes of the parkway between Riverdale Road and Good Luck Road until midnight in order to investigate the fatal crash. The other driver was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital.

Now, the U.S. Park Police is seeking information from anyone who saw the accident. U.S Park Police Spokesman David Schlosser said that they receieved a 911 call from a woman who reported some activity on the side of the road that may have involved the deceased driver and another person.

Schlosser said, however, before they we able to get her contact information, the call dropped. They would like this individual to call them.

"We also would like to hear from anyone else who may have seen this
activity, or saw a car being operated either very slowly or at a high speed
in a reckless fashion," Schlosser said in a statement. "The area where this crash happened can have cell phones routed to several jurisdictions so some callers may have not had their reports transferred to the U.S. Park Police."
