Fourth Suspect Arrested in Robbery of Teens in University Park

The fourth suspect involved in Saturday’s robbery in University Park was arrested Tuesday morning, according to Prince George’s County police.

Michael Baker, 23, of Silver Spring has been charged with robbery, police said. As of Monday, the county’s Robbery Suppression Unit was still searching for Baker, who had not been present Saturday night when three other suspects were taken into custody.

Joron Brown, 21, of Silver Spring; Travis Marcus, 21, of Silver Spring; and Kevin Hamilton, 22, of Olney were arrested at a residence on 58th Avenue in Bladensburg Saturday. All three were charged with robbery.

According to Prince George’s County Police, the four men were involved in a robbery that took place early Saturday morning. Four teenagers were walking toward University Park when one of the suspects approached them and asked if they had any marijuana. When one of the teens said no, the suspect reportedly punched him in the face.

Two of the teens continued walking and were again approached by the suspects in an unknown vehicle along the 6900 block of Pineway, police said. A man got out of the vehicle, told the teenagers he had a gun, and ordered them to drop their cell phones and wallets, according to police. After taking two cell phones and a credit card, the suspects fled in the unknown vehicle.

Police responded to the scene at approximately 3:45 a.m. Saturday morning. The stolen property was recovered by police when the first three suspects were arrested Saturday night.
