Fire Company Asks for Blood and Monetary Donations for Injured Chief

Riverdale's Fire Chief remains at the burn unit at an area hospital.

It sounds like Riverdale Fire Chief Charles Ryan is on the road to recovery.

According to the Riverdale Fire Department website, Ryan walked around his ICU room at the Burn Center at Washington Hospital Center Saturday and is able to move his arms .

However, he still has a long road ahead of him, which is why the fire company has asked residents and others wanting to support Ryan to donate blood for him and for three other firefighters who were injured as well.
