Family: Who To Call for Information on Navy Yard Shootings

Here's a phone number for the Navy Yard's Warfighter and Family Support Center.

A shooting at the Navy Yard near southwest Washington DC "has left some people dead and some injured," according to the Armed Forces Press Service.

The situation involved an active shooter on base at 8:20 a.m., according to the article published at about 1:30 p.m. An investigation is under way and there is a "shelter in place order" for personnel. 

Family members looking for information about their loved ones can contact the Navy Yard's Warfighter and Family Support Center at 202-433-6151 or 202-433-9713.
The DC police said family members may reunite at Nationals Stadium Lot B, South Capitol and N St SE, according to an article on Georgetown Patch.

The incident was reported "inside the Naval Sea Systems Command Headquarters," the Armed Forces Press article states. About 3,000 personnel work on the base.
