Early Morning House Fire

Damages are estimated at $100,000.

Update, 9:58 a.m.: A fire broke out overnight on the 4700 block of Oliver Street in Riverdale Park.

According to Riverdale Park Fire Chief Charles Ryan, the fire department was dispatched to 4711 Oliver Street, shortly after 3 a.m.

Smoke was billowing from the second floor of a three-story home, Ryan said, and firefighters found a fire in a bedroom and it had spread to the third floor attic area as well. It took firefighters 30 minutes to douse the flames, according to fire officials.

Companies from Bladensburg and other nearby towns also reported to the scene.

Although no one was injured, the family is displaced from their home. Damages to the home are estimated at $100,000.

Original Post, 9:10 a.m,: Prince George's Fire/EMS responded to an early morning fire on the 4700 block of Oliver Street in Riverdale, according to spokesperson Mark Brady.

Upon arrival firefighters found a working fire, which was extinguished.

Damages to the home are estimated at $100,000.

No injuries are reported.
