Driver Charged in Pedestrian Accident Saturday

A 51-year-old Gaithersburg woman was charged for hitting a Riverdale Park man as he walked in a crosswalk Saturday.

A 51-year-old Gaitherburg woman was charged for striking a man with her vehicle, while he crossed an intersection in Riverdale Park Saturday.

The 18-year-old Riverdale Park man was crossing at the intersection of Baltimore Avenue and Queensbury Road, when he was struck by the driver, according to Lt. Robert Turner, of the Riverdale Park Police Department.

Turner said the driver was going eastbound on Queensbury Road turning northbound onto Baltimore Avenue when she hit the man. The pedestrian was crossing in a crosswalk and had the right of way, according to police.
