BW Parkway Motorist Severely Injures Pedestrian

U.S. Park Police are investigating a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway just south of Riverdale.

A 27-year-old Baltimore woman is in the hospital with severe head and neck injuries after a motorist hit her as she stood outside of her disabled vehicle on the Baltimore-Washington Parkway early Saturday morning.

According to U.S. Park Police Spokesman David Schlosser, the hit-and-run accident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. on the northbound side of the parkway, just south of the Riverdale Road exit leading to East-West Highway.

U.S. Park Police are now searching for the vehicle that struck the pedestrian.

She was hit by a white or silver minivan or utility van, police said. The van does not have rear windows on its back doors and damage was made to the right passenger side of the vehicle. It may also have side view mirror damage.
