Saturday's sobriety checkpoint in Riverdale Park resulted in 673 checks and three individuals arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired (DWI), according to a statement released by Riverdale Park police.
The checkpoint—part of a multi-jurisdictional effort to deter driving while impaired and alcohol related car accidents—was held from 9 p.m to 1 a.m. on Saturday in the 5500 block of Kenilworth Avenue.
Of the 673 vehicles that were checked, eight drivers were asked to perform field sobriety tests, said police. Three individuals failed the tests and were arrested and subsequently charged with DWI.
