Update: Two County Police Officers Injured in Riverdale Road Accident

A car with two female passengers and a Prince George's County police cruiser collided early Sunday morning.

Update, July 12, 2:04 p.m: The two police officers and female victim have been released from the hospital, police said.

At this time, there is no more information on the accident itself, and no one has been ticketed or charged, according to police.

Original post, July 10, 7:43 a.m.: Two Prince George’s County police officers and two civilians were injured early this morning when a police cruiser and a civilian car collided on Riverdale Road and 63rd Avenue in Riverdale Heights.

Units from Prince George’s County Fire Department responded to the incident around 1:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene, they reported that two male officers and two females were injured with one of the females trapped in her vehicle.

Firefighters were able to free the trapped 35-year-old female from her vehicle within 15 minutes. She was transported to a local trauma center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The two officers, both 26, were also transported to a local trauma center with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

The second female was treated on the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
