A look events for the weekend of March 25.

This weekend is all about the cherry blossoms and since the pretty trees are from Japan, we'll also let you know about some fundraisers to help the nation that was recently struck by disaster.

Help Japan a Disaster Relief Benefit

You drinking Japanese beer may help victims of the country's earthquake and tsunami.  Buy a pint of Kirin Ichiban for $5 or Asahi for $6 and 100 percent of the proceeds will benefit the Japanese Red Cross

U Street Music Hall Benefit for Japan

Owner Jesse Tittsworth will be headlining a fundraiser Saturday night.  They will be raffling off two $200 gift certificates to Tattoo Paradise. All proceeds will benefit the Red Cross.

 

Blossom Kite Festival

16th Street and Constitution Ave. NW in DC, 877-442-5666

The annual cherry blossom festival includes a day for folks to enter a kite-flying competition Sunday. There's demonstrations as well for those who just want to watch.

 

Cupcake for Japan

Need a sweet treat? Well if you go to Cake Dreams and buy a cupcake, the Rockville bakery will donate 100 percent of the Sunday's profit to the American Red Cross for the earthquake and tsunami victims in Japan.
