Exiled by the Bhutanese government and transplanted nearly 10,000 miles from home, hundreds of Hindu refugees are making the difficult transition to life in Riverdale.

The 300-odd immigrants are among 60,000 relocated to the United States after years of living in UN-run camps. Once here, they must adapt to a place where few share their language or their country of origin.

On Saturday, the Washington Post chronicled many of the cultural and economic hurdles faced by this small group of expats, from struggling to read food packages at to working long hours for low pay.
