Mulch Sale, Stream Clean-Up in University Park Saturday

Several University Park organizations are hosting events Saturday that hopefully will get everyone excited about spring.

The University Park Church of the Brethren will be hosting its annual mulch sale starting at 8 a.m. in the church's parking lot. The shredded hardwood mulch will be on sale for $3.50 per 2 cubic feet bag.

Prepaid orders of 15 bags or more can be delivered, if within reasonable distance.

The University Park Citizens Association, University Park Woman’s Club and the Town Stream Committee is also hosting a town stream clean-up Saturday.

Residents, volunteers and friends should come out for this annual event to beautify University Park. Everyone will meet in the Riverdale Presbyterian Church for snacks and to grab trash bags. Participants should bring gloves.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon.

The cleanup is associated with the Alice Ferguson Foundation’s 25th Potomac River Watershed Cleanup. Students can attain community service hours for participating.
