Severe Weather Warning Issued by National Weather Service

A severe weather warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for central Prince George's County.

Update at 8:05 p.m.

While the severe thunderstorm warning has expired, a flash food warning will remain in effect for central Prince George's County in central Maryland until 10:30 p.m.

The National Weather Service's severe thunderstorm warning for central Prince George's County has been extended to 8 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for central Prince George’s County by the National Weather Service.

The warning, which may include damaging wind gusts, large hail and frequent lightning, is set to expire at 7:30 p.m. Until then, it is advised that those impacted by the storm stay indoors.

As of 6:35 p.m., Doppler Radar showed a line of severe thunderstorms flare up to Riverdale Park’s east, near Bowie. While that threat appears to be moving east, away from the area, another segment of possible showers and thunderstorms could materialize.
