Riverdale Park Farmers Market Celebrates Caribbean Cuisine and Restaurant Week

Stop by the farmers market from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and enjoy Jamaican treats from Cakes by Ruthann.

Cakes by Ruthann will be celebrating the first Caribbean Cuisine and Restaurant Week at the Riverdale Park Farmers Market today.

Jamaican products available from Cakes by Ruthann will include gluten-free coconut drops, meat and vegetable patties, Caribbean limeade and other tropical-inspired desserts. Chocolate-dipped chocolate chip cookies and strawberry lemonade for children will also be sold.

Caribbean Cuisine and Restaurant Week begins June 24 and continues through June 30, but Cakes by Ruthann will begin the celebration a few days early just for the farmers market.

Other vendors at the market today include ECO City Farm, Harris Orchard, Thank God It's Fresh, Groff's Content Farm, Red Chimney Flower Farm, Jack Creek Plants, Musachio Produce, Neopol Savory Smokery, Shells Yes! Crab Cake Company, Stone Hearth Bakery and more.

Acoustic blues musician Rick Franklin will be performing with percussionist Rick Usilton at the market today.
