Marchers from the Occupy Movement are headed toward the Rhode Island Avenue-Brentwood Metro via U.S. Route 1, where they plan to meet up with about 100 other demonstrators.

They will have an emergency general assembly at that point to decide how to approach McPherson Square, said Bo Han, who is in charge of the Occupy Movement routes.

The Occupy Movement enjoyed a breakfast of hummus and and red pepper pitas, coffee, and hot chocolate at the Food Co-op on the University of Maryland campus Tuesday morning. They held a quick instructional general assembly on the ground level of the Stamp Student Union and talked about the march, the media attention they have received and explained their goals to a passerby.

A crowd of around 30 formed for the GA.

A group of Occupy Movement ralliers might be moving through the area on U.S. Route 1 Monday night, Lt. Robert Mueck of the University of Maryland Police said.

"They are just entering [Prince George's] County on Route 1 in Laurel now," Mueck said in an e-mail at 8:17 p.m. "They were supposed to stay in Laurel overnight, but apparently are making an attempt to make it to College Park."

He said there are about 30 to 35 people peacefully marching, causing no traffic issues, and police are providing them an escort.

Students at the Food Co-op on the University of Maryland campus have prepared food and intend to meet up with them, Mueck said.

"Their goal is to get to D.C. to join the movement there," Mueck said.
